A Bowl of Ice Kacang and a New Beginning
There we were on a scorching afternoon – two friends, one simple bowl of ice kacang with peanuts and chendol, and a conversation that changed everything.
Nothing fancy. Just crushed ice, sweet syrup, and the kind of moment you don't plan for but desperately need.
As the ice melted, we talked about our own healing journeys. The struggles. The small practices that saved us. And somewhere in that conversation, we found our calling: supporting the sandwich generation.
You know who you are. You're caring for aging parents while raising your children. You're stretched impossibly thin. The guilt is constant – for not doing enough, for feeling exhausted, for wanting just one moment to yourself. Burnout isn't coming; it's already moved in.
Here's what we realized: healing doesn't require grand gestures. Sometimes it's just a bowl of ice kacang on a hot day. A moment to pause. A reminder that you're human, not just a caregiver.
We're ready to help those who want to help themselves. All in the name of kindness – starting with kindness to yourself.
My Small Shifts:
1. Permission over perfection - Stop waiting for the "right time" to rest. Take the pause now – even imperfectly.
2. Guilt is information, not truth - Your guilt means you care. It doesn't mean you're failing. Self-care isn't selfish.
3. Small joys are survival tools
- A bowl of ice kacang. Three deep breaths. These aren't luxuries – they're necessities.
If you're feeling the weight of it all, you don't have to carry it alone. We've walked our own healing paths, and now we want to walk alongside you.
Look out for our upcoming workshops in March – tune in for more details!
