The First Day of Abundance
On this first day of the Year of the Horse, I pause before this simple arrangement – mandarins for prosperity, lotus blooms reaching toward light, and the blessing of "福" already here.
But the real abundance? Family. Laughter around the table. Knowing we have each other.
As I hold this gratitude, I'm also looking ahead. My vision for Tulip Meadows is to contribute to the mental wellbeing of more people – the sandwich generation, adults facing life's challenges, youth navigating their paths. A space where everyone can find relief and remember they deserve care too.
When we tend to our own wellbeing, we create ripples. We show up more present, more patient, more kind. We model something different for the next generation.
My hope this Year of the Horse? That more families experience genuine gratitude – not the obligatory kind, but the kind that comes when you've learned to care for yourself so you can truly be there for others.
My Small Shifts:
1. Gratitude before overwhelm: Start the day noticing one blessing – before the to-do list takes over.
2. Family presence over perfection: Being there matters more than doing everything perfectly.
3. Rest is generational healing: When you pause, you teach your children it's okay to breathe too.
May Tulip Meadows be a meadow of rest for weary souls. May we all enjoy family and be grateful.
Wishing everyone a peaceful and abundant Year of the Horse. 🐴🌷
