Four Different Cakes, One Beautiful Evening
Dinner with four friends. Dessert arrived - four beautiful cakes from Partage, an amazing patisserie. Each one different. Different flavors. Different looks. Each a work of art in its own way.
I looked at those cakes and thought: that's us.
Four friends. Four completely different stories. Different challenges we're facing. Different paths we're walking. Yet when we came together, there was ease. Laughter. Joy in the moment. No one had to be anyone else. No one had to match. We just... were.
The name of the patisserie says it all: Partage. Sharing.
That's what we did. Shared our time. Our presence. Our stories. Our struggles and our wins. And somehow, in all that difference, something sweet emerged. I'm grateful for these friends who chose to spend their evening with me. Time - that's the real gift. Not the fancy cakes (though they were awfully delicious). But the choice to be present with each other, fully and without pretense.
My Small Shifts:
* Difference doesn't divide when there's genuine presence - it enriches
* The best gatherings aren't about sameness but about showing up as we are
* Sharing time with people who accept all of you is one of life's greatest gifts
Who are the people you can just be with - no performance, no pretending?
